kickintheheadcomic says:
Whenever a TV product commercial plays I bust a gut during the parts where they show us what we're doing wrong and why we need the product.
This is my tribute to the hilarious work the actors in these infomercials do.

gotta get me one of these
this pillow will supposedly let you sleep on your arm without cutting off circulation to your hand... well i'm pretty sure it's the position of your arm and not the excess pillow between your head and you arm that's responsible for the loss of circulation, i would totally buy this! my arm ALWAYS falls asleep! but then again, at $99, i think i could just live with my arm being all tingly in the morning - it makes using the flat iron just that much more exciting!

a weighty issue
so i'm not what you would call a 'petite' person... i have 'curves' and am routinely self-deprecating about my weight. i'm comfortable with myself.
what i'm not comfortable with is the clothing industry progressively making women's clothing slimmer-cut and paring down the measurements on sizing... a size 8 in today's market is NOT the same as a size 8 was 10 years ago.
so yeah, i do have frustration when if comes to buying clothes sometimes... i'm big but i'm not HUGE. i'm also not poorly proportioned... i know to go for the larger sizes because they fit me better and hence make me look better. but when i can't even zip the 16, then there's something out of line... or when the largest pant size available is a 32... or when a store has done away with XL altogether and their L is now a medium in all other stores... or when a store sells up to XXXL for men and the ladies (not misses) L would be sausage-casing-esque on preteens... yeah, these kinds of situations yank my chain just a smidge.
now, i don't want to detract from what a lovely human being gabourey sidibe seems and i definitely do NOT want to ad to all the negativity that people have been stirring up concerning her weight but... when i see the following, i'm thinking to myself, "where the hell can YOU find a HURLEY sweatshirt that ZIPS UP when i can't even find one where i can get my arm in the sleeve?!?"

against the odds
Cubist aims for Rubik record
Colour-blind teen has solved cube in under 7 seconds
ok, the only way i've ever solved a rubik's cube is by removing all the stickers and putting the colours rightfully back together! now, if i was REALLY smart, i would just leave the stickers off and it would be permanently solved! alas... rubik's cubes are one of those things that are cool for the first 2 minutes and then they get put in a box and forgotten about.
this colour-blind kid solving the cube in record time is pretty impressive but a totally blind person solving one would be even cooler! they even have braille cubes for just such a scenario! and to prove that it might be possible, here's a story about a blind guy accomplishing a daring quest:

it's the most wonderful time of the year!
the candy cane donut is back at tim hortons!
it's the double chocolate donut with candy cane bits/sprinkles on top! minty AND chocolaty? no freaking way! this is my absolute favourite thing tim hos has ever come up with aside from their old school chocolate croissants that were actually croissants and not doughy lumps of crap.

me like!
don't get all upset with me for once again mentioning chirstmas before halloween but i'm just giving you all plenty of warning. you don't want to be THAT person running to the store on christmas eve with no idea what to get, do you? it's all about bein prepared! so yeah, here's a little something that i would LOVE to get... be it chirstmas or otherwise!
intorducing the dunk mug!
The Mocha Dunk Mug is the ideal cup for you if you like a couple of biscuits with your tea or coffee.
With the original, dual purpose dunking mug there's no need to juggle with a plate and cup and of course, you also save on the washing up afterwards.
If you're looking for gift ideas, a dunker mug makes a great present for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, house-warming and many other occasions. It is the perfect gift for those people who are really hard to find presents for.
Left handed dunkers haven't been forgotten either as it's available in both right and left handed versions. The slot of the Dunk cup should always face away from you when drinking so that the biscuits in the slot slide towards the back of the mug rather than onto your lap.

delicious
so i'm all for a good shimmery body powder... cause when the girls are out there, they always look better when they're shimmering. nothing says 'value me for my intelligence' like shimmery boobies.
and i LOVE chocolate...
so naturally, a shimmery, chocolate flavoured body powder would be straight up my alley... except... as a woman not falling into the 'stick figure' thin category, i feel as though perhaps smelling like i just polished off my very own tray of fresh chocolate chip cookies wouldn't be as alluring as i might like it to be.

worst. craving quenching. ever.
note to self: do not ever again get a kit kat senses.
it tastes like garbage. just go ahead and pretend you're german and get a bueno. i just had one and it was one of the most disappointing chocolate bar experiences i've had in my entire life. i should have known... when a chocolate bar need celebrity endorsement, it is definitely a lemon.

WRONG: girl lego
ugh... i think i just threw up a little.pink-themed lego that is essentially a rip off of polly pockets? (and not the good polly pockets they had back in the day, but the current version that definitely doesn't fit you your pocket)
i HATE it when a toy company or whoever thinks their product isn't appealling to girls so their solution is invariably to make it pink and add flowers and/or pets.
little boys get to play with dragons, police cars, and medieval knights... and little girls? kitchen playsets, bimbo faries, and baby dolls that wet themselves. yeah, if that doesn't spell progessive, what does?
it feels so... degrading? is that the word i want? i'm not sure... i just feel all icky when i think about it. if any girl-child of mind ends up like pink or princesses i might just die.

bratz 2.0
so my distaste for those bratz dolls is not documented here but it DOES exist and it is massive. giving one of those to your kid is like insuring they have a std by the time they're 12...
but... these dolls here, altought seemingly dressed classier, are giving the bratz a run for their money in the skank department...
